Recently, I was stocking shelves in the baby section at the place I work at and I noticed something that almost all the packaging had in common: the mother-baby images were all of white mothers holding white babies. I'm not sure if these diaper and infant formula companies realize it, but African American, Oriental, Middle Eastern, as well as many other races, also happen to have babies. And companies advertising these baby products should realize this and stop discriminating against these races, whether it is accidental or not. This problem is creating the illusion that Caucasians are the superior mothers, which is sometimes the farthest from the truth. I'm not sure if it has to do with the area in which we live, or just the general ignorance of diaper companies, but it should not matter. Equality should be included in every part of the world, especially when dealing with the loving relationship of a mother and child.
